What exactly happens during a regular (not free consultation or initial) session?This is YOUR time and YOUR space. Although I may ask a few questions and make some prompts to guide you into a space with your Higher Power, I don’t do a lot of teaching/talking/lecturing. We may practice holding silence; I will reflect back to you your experience for deeper consideration.
I've never done this before and it seems weird/scary?I totally understand. Many people are unfamiliar with the practice of spiritual direction. Don’t worry! I make things as normal and as comfortable as possible for my clients. I would describe it sort of like a prayer experience with my assistance.
What are your personal spiritual beliefs?I’m happy to talk to you about this more. I hesitate to publish my personal beliefs on my website, as people can make assumptions and draw incorrect conclusions regarding my practice.
Are you still practicing medicine in Illinois?No. I am not. I live now in Tennessee, just outside Nashville and am a Spiritual Director.
Having been a practicing physician, I bring a unique experience to my role as a Spiritual Director. That work formed a deep respect for the connection between body, mind, and spirit—an awareness that now shapes my approach to spiritual direction.
Can I come to Whipp Acres for an in person session?
At this time, I am only working virtually although I love the idea of meeting with clients in person at my home and this may be a possibility in the future.
Are you a psychic? No. That is not what I do. You don’t go “through” me to encounter your Higher Power. I simply hold space for you and the Divine to meet together, and then I may offer clarity/conformation of your experience.
