Hi, I’m Amy!
I’m so delighted YOU are here! Offering spiritual direction to those seeking or hurting is truly my vocational calling. My passion is for The Divine to be known, not only in the imagination, but also profoundly experienced in everyday realities.
I bring a rare and powerful perspective, shaped by my experience as a former surgeon, who stepped away from clinical practice after the loss of my 7-year-old son. At the age of 32, I found myself utterly devastated, battling depression and loneliness, along with a faith and identity crisis. I cried out to my Higher Power, angry and bewildered.
Over the next 7 years, I was tenderly and graciously welcomed, embraced, and healed through participation in several different communities. These incredible mentors and individuals manifested the presence of pure love to me in a space where I could be fully known and fully loved.
My painful (yet joyful) journey led me to seek credentialing as a spiritual director and to later become a foster parent and adoptive mother to a traumatized and neurodivergent child. I have 6 years of spiritual formation training, and I completed a 2 year certificate program of spiritual direction in 2019.
My path reflects a lived understanding of identity transition, role loss, meaning reconstruction, and the internal recalibration that often accompanies profound life change.
I’m fun-loving, adventurous and cherish a good laugh. I deeply admire a life well-lived and savor in pondering questions like “what does it mean to die well?” I adore animals, especially dogs, and have 3 amazing pups of my own, as well as a horse, donkey, sheep, 6 cats, and chickens!
I’m a Chicago native and fan of all things Chicago - Giordano’s pizza, the Bears/Cubs/White Sox/Bulls/Blackhawks, and Garett’s popcorn!
I now reside outside of Nashville on several beautiful acres of pastures and woodlands. I spend my time parenting, caring for my animals, hosting get togethers with my wide array of friends, traveling, reading, sipping fun cocktails and taking naps!

I’m honored to support individuals and leaders in reconnecting to meaning, values, and purpose, amid sustained pressure and complexity. My work centers on helping clients clarify purpose, integrate values into daily decision-making, and cultivate an internal compass that supports resilience, integrity, and sustainable engagement over time. This work is accomplished as YOU engage with YOUR Higher Power, and I’m here to assist you with that! I specialize in working with those who are grieving, lost, or experiencing a life or faith crisis.

my weaknesses: as an introvert, I need a lot of rest and alone time to recalibrate. I can be very hard on myself and occasionally struggle with perfectionism. At times, it can be difficult for me to ask for help.

I relish in creating beautiful spaces for others to connect and have fun. I revel in solving a mystery and figuring things out, and I also like to dance and play games!

Spiritual Direction is the sacred practice of holding space for presence and listening on behalf of another, for the purpose of a sacred encounter. It is here where you, the Divine, and I meet together. You are invited to notice how the your Higher Power is moving in your life - the invitations, callings, and assurances. As the spiritual director, I serve as your companion as you attend to your spiritual relationship(s). During the session, I may offer reflection, discernment and compassion. You receive deeper awareness, clarity and connection with your Higher Power. Over time, deep soul-level transformation can occur.
What is Spiritual Direction?
*Please note that although I use terms like “The Divine” and “Higher Power” on my website, I work with all individuals- regardless of their belief system, religious background or church affiliation. YOUR Higher Power might be the trinitarian God, mother earth, your spirit animal or even unknown to you at this time. My work is to companion YOU on YOUR particular journey, NOT to guide you in following my belief system.
